Not Sure I Get It…

The biggest evidence of terrorism’s idiocy is its pursuit of lost causes. Yes, they succeed in causing terror, but then what, materially? I’m less concerned with “what do they hope to achieve?” and more with “how can they possibly hope to achieve it?”

Consider ISIS vs Al Qaeda. In retrospect it should have been obvious who would have the greater impact as an organization, and why: goal feasibility. Al Qaeda’s main objective is the exit of all American troops from Arab lands. It’s never going to happen. American interests run too deep. There is too much influence to lose, and too much face to save. They won’t leave until they feel like it.

ISIS’ establishment of a caliphate, was – on the other hand – entirely achievable: identify a dysfunctional government, carve out territory, eliminate resistance, crown yourself. People flocked by the thousands, drawn by the actualization of evil boasts, a world apart from Al Qaeda’s shadowy figures operating in the dark in disappearing in flames. Materials losses came only with the march towards unrealistic goals: a march towards Baghdad. Unrealistic targets doom endeavors.

Which brings me to white supremacists. I watched the Vice News special report on Charlotte, and left it wonder what – really – is the point? White Supremacists believe in creating an ethno-state, and the submission of any other races in the country to white domination, in accordance with believed inherent superiority of the Aryan race. Right.

The only problem with that is…everybody else. Success criteria requires willingness of millions of black, asian, and hispanic Americans to exit the country, willingly. It requires millions of white people standing silent in the face of such evil; unlikely, as seen in Charlottesville. It would be impossible to run the country in the economic and institutional vacuum left behind by the emigration. And impossible to find trade partners in a world sure to shun such a repugnant republic. If it came to it, that same world would also likely react to sudden waves of refugees with violence, as seen in the last World War. The Nazis lost.

The goal of the White Supremacy is not just evil. It’s futile. Evil will not – realistically – prevail.
